The much loved " Jack-in-the-Pulpit" is a herbaceous perennial known for it's unusual and striking hood which curves forward over the "Jack", an upright spike inside. This creates a "preacher in the canopied pulpit" effect! Bearing unique purple flowers in the Spring and showy red berries soon after, this shady woodland plant adds mystery and beauty to any garden! Caution should be exercised with small children and pets as all parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested.
