Preferring wet soil, the New-York Aster is commonly found growing in damp meadows and semi-shaded woodlands. With bright yellow centers, these showy purple-pink flowers are a wonderful attraction to bees as well as butterflies, and start blooming just about the time all the other plans are starting to look tired. Wonderful, low-maintenance fall color for both garden and prairie!
