This wildflower is often overlooked, but deserves a place in any garden. A distant relative of harebell, this bright purple beauty grows up to six feet tall in its second year. Like harebell, it has five petaled purple flowers, except that these open up flat, whereas the Harebell remains in a bell shape. Colorful and aspiring!
