With every bit of the splendor of the tall garden delphiniums, this shorter "Wild Larkspur" is an elegant addition to any Spring garden. Each of the light blue to deep-blue violet flowers last around a week, several flowers blooming at the same time. Each flower is replaced by a cluster of 3 seed-pods that are joined together at the base. Though the foliage is toxic to livestock and generally avoided, bumblebees love the nectar from these graceful wildflowers.
