A world-famous favorite, this native Texan lupine creates one of the globe's top natural wildflower displays. Along with other bluebonnet species, it is the Texas state flower, this particular variety being by far the most-loved. Occasionally, all shades of pink are seen, but the most well-known and common color is the deep and rich royal blue. While the meadows of striking cobalt blooms seem to grow effortlessly in Texas, this plant tends to be quite finicky outside of it's native home.
