Elegant lavender and white blooms appear on this wildflower from late spring to early summer. High drought-resistance makes this one of the easiest Penstemons to grow. Butterflies and moths are the main pollinators of this wildflower and they, along with hummingbirds can often be seen sucking the nectar from the long, trumpet-shaped flowers. It's common name comes from it's hairy, slender stems. A beautiful species to add to garden or prairie!
