Bell-shaped, greenish-white flowers dangle from the arching stems of this Spring-blooming perennial. Attractive, blue-violet, inedible berries eventually replace these blooms. While delicately beautiful, many do not consider the flowers showy, rather growing this shade-loving wildflower for it's striking foliage. This species draws animals of many kinds! Ruby throated hummingbirds and long-tongued bees suck nectar from the tubular flowers, while Prairie Chickens and other various birds enjoy the berries. White-Tailed Deer are quite fond of the foliage, therefore woodland planting can be a challenge to establish. Otherwise easy to grow, this wildflower is a beautiful addition to your hosta beds, and shady garden nooks!
