Mountain Mint is a somewhat misleading name as this wildflower is most commonly found in moist prairies, meadows, and swamps. Clusters of small, white, 2-lipped flowers grace the strongly minty scented foliage, and tend to attract a large number of nectar seeking insects and butterflies. Though the strong scent of this plant is repugnant to most herbivores, the leaves have been often used by wild gardeners for various teas.
