Sweet-William Catchfly earned it's name from the sticky sap which is excreted onto the stems in which various small insects are ensnared. Wonderful for a meadow's first year, gorgeous clusters of small rose/purple flowers appear in only six to eight weeks after germination. Growing up to two feet high, this wildflower blooms heavily, and is a captivating attraction for bees, birds, and butterflies.
