Forming dense colonies of tall-vegetation, this water-loving grass is an important source of protective cover and nesting habitat for many wetland birds and wildlife. With attractive, succulent foliage, it is loved by Canadian Geese, ducks, mallards, and muskrats for it's seeds and tender leaves. Growing four to seven feet tall, this grass is somewhat aggressive, and will tolerate occasional mowing. Turning a golden-tan in Autumn, this wild grass is not only fantastic for naturalizing wetlands, but beautiful as well!
