Tiny, bright pink or purple flowers gracefully sit on top of long, slender, semi-woody stems. These stems rise from a short, succulent base somewhat resembling a miniature aloe-vera plant. Brilliant, but short-lived, the flowers typically do not open until noon and shut again by evening. Small round seed pods replace the blooms of this wildflower, and explode when ripe, scattering their seeds several inches in all directions.
