Commonly called 'Prairie Bird's Foot Violet,' the divided leaves of this native wildflower highly resemble a bird's foot. Deep violet-blue flowers are five-petaled, the middle one being predominately spurred. Small brown seed pods form after the Spring blossoms are finished, exploding when ripe to project their seeds for further propagation. This dainty little wildflower is perfect for borders and rock gardens!
