Vegetable Description: In 1987, an elderly woman sent a collection or orange and yellow tomatoes to Gleckler Seed Company for trial purposes. An unexpected white beefsteak tomato began growing among the others, probably the result of a genetic mutation. After several years of cultivation, Gleckler Seed offered this variety for sale. Great White is the largest of the white tomato varieties, and has excellent resistance to sun scald, drought, and cracking.
