Non GMO Seeds

Neonics is a shortened form of Neonicotinoids.  Neonicotinoids are a class of chemical insecticides that are similar to nicotine.  Many scientists believe that the widespread use of neonicotinoids in agricultural crops has had an adverse effect on honeybees and native bee populations.  Some scientists have drawn correlations between neonicotinoid use and colony collapse disorder (CCD) in honeybee hives.

Most neonicotinoids are used on agricultural crops such as field corn, canola, cotton, and soybeans.  But some growers have also used it on a few garden vegetables such as lettuce and tomatoes.

We are opposed to the use of neonicotinoids because of the unknown effects that they are bringing to our pollinator friends, and ultimately to the human race.  Having been beekeepers for many years, we also have a personal interest in securing seeds with no neonicotinoids on our farm.

Therefore, at Everwilde Farms we are committed to sourcing our seeds from growers who do not use neonicotinoids in their growing processes.  We believe that this is the best policy to keep our pollinators and their communities healthy and safe.
