This old heirloom bean is good for early planting! Hardy plants grow up to 18” tall and bear 6”-7” pods that are delicious and remain stringless at all times! Grown for snap bean or dry bean. Dried seeds are black. 48 to 70 days to maturity.

The plants of the French Horticultural bean are vigorous and yield 6”-8” pods that are primarily used as snap beans. If dried, the pods turn to a yellow color splashed with red, and its seeds are purple. Can be used as a dry soup bean. This heavy yielding heirloom bean tolerates heavy soils! A half runner type that some consider a pole bean. 70 days to maturity.

Bush beans are hardier than pole beans.
