Bitterroot-Wildflower-Seeds.gif
Lewisii rediviva (Bitterroot) Wildflower Seeds

This is a beautiful, very low-growing wildflower first collected by Meriwether Lewis on the Lewis and Clark expedition. The perennial will send up a small rosette of narrow, succulent leaves in late summer which remain green over winter. Then in the spring you'll be amazed by large two-inch pink or white flowers that seem to bloom from the ground. They have very short stems, and the leaves disappear with the bloom to reform once again in late summer. Can be difficult to grow, requiring gravelly soil with excellent drainage. Does best in rock gardens.
